Corten steel doors are doors made from weathering steel, an alloy that forms a stable rust-coloured patina which protects the steel beneath and gives a distinctive industrial, architectural finish. DoorTechnik designs and manufactures bespoke corten (weathering steel) doors in the UK - front doors, entrance doors and external riser doors.
Corten is not sealed: the patina develops and weathers naturally, and rust run-off may stain the surrounding area, so choose and detail adjacent surfaces and thresholds with this in mind.
